Community Sustainability Initiatives

As we embark on the journey of establishing our foundation, one of our foundational pillars is dedicated to the implementation of sustainability initiatives within communities. We are committed to fostering positive change by working hand in hand with communities to develop and implement sustainable practices that enhance the well-being of both the environment and its residents. Our aim is to empower communities with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to embrace sustainable living, from conservation efforts to renewable energy adoption, waste reduction, and more.

Through collaborative partnerships and community-driven initiatives, we aspire to create a brighter and more sustainable future for all, leaving a lasting impact for generations to come.

Access To Energy

Ensuring universal access to affordable electricity entails connecting a minimum of 90 million people each year by 2030. Currently, a staggering 600 million individuals, constituting 43% of Africa’s total population, lack access to electricity, with the majority concentrated in sub-Saharan Africa. According to the International Energy Agency, the most cost-effective and prudent option for nearly 45% of those expected to gain access by 2030 is the expansion of national grids. In rural areas, where more than 80% of those without electricity reside, the most viable solutions are mini-grids and stand-alone systems, primarily powered by solar energy.

SDG 7 is centered on a global endeavor to guarantee access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. Energy is intricately connected to all other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and recognizing these interconnections is crucial for their effective implementation. Access to clean, modern, and sustainable energy is pivotal for enhancing the quality of life in all communities and improving the livelihoods of millions of people in Africa. This potential for transformation is intertwined with various socioeconomic issues; for instance, children with access to reliable electricity can pursue their studies and reading without hindrance.

Achieving universal energy access by 2030 will demand concerted efforts from governments, the private sector, and civil society. Tailored community programs designed to support those who face challenges in accessing energy independently will be instrumental in realizing our objectives. In collaboration with communities and our partners, we are firmly committed to expanding access to remote and rural communities in need of support.
