Bringing change to Africans
The Ukusimama (Sustainability) Foundation was founded by Thobekile Gambu with the desire of wanting to bring change to the lives of African’s. This change would be through:
- The implementation of sustainability initiatives, which will empower communities through sustainable development and accelerate action towards achieving the sustainable development goals;
- The implementation of a mentorship programme geared towards young women who wish to take up leadership positions within the sustainability space and,
- The implementation of energy initiatives within communities in order to provide access to power.
- The implementation of an awareness programme to equip communities with knowledge and tools to sustain their immediate environment.

Our vision is a world where sustainability is a way of life with man and nature thriving harmoniously, fostering sustainability through community engagement, mentorship and innovation.

To empower communities with the knowledge and tools needed to take meaningful actions towards a sustainable future through education, advocacy, and hands-on initiatives, mentorship of women and innovation.
Our Goals
- Cultivate and grow global and local partnerships that can grow communities through sustainability.
- Increase access to clean energy through the implementation of projects within communities.
- Mentor women in sustainability, so that they identify and achieve career development and personal growth goals that support business objectives
- Undertake awareness to equip communities with knowledge and tools to sustain their immediate environment.
